Begins with the evening Mass of the Lord's Supper on Holy Thursday, reaches its high point in the Easter Vigil, and closes with Evening Prayer on Easter Sunday. This is the shortest but most important Liturgical Season in the Church.
HOLY THURSDAY—THE LORD'S SUPPER
On Holy Thursday, April 17th, we commemorate Jesus' institution of the Eucharist and of the Priesthood, at 8:00 PM , bi-lingual.
On Good Friday, April 18th we commemorate the Lord's Passion and Death. The celebration of the Lord's Passion and Veneration of the Cross at 4:00 PM in English. The Stations of the Cross will be re-enacted on the streets beginning in the Church at 5:30 PM. The Stations will be recited in English and Spanish.
HOLY SATURDAY—EASTER VIGIL
Saturday, April 19th, at 8 pm, bilingual. It is the most important celebration of the entire year in which we commemorate the rising of Jesus from the tomb and his victory over sin and death. From ancient times the Easter Vigil has been called 'the mother of all vigils.'
DIVINE MERCY SUNDAY
April 27th is Divine Mercy Sunday and it will be dedicated to the new Saints John Paul II & John XXIII. Beginning with 1:15 pm Mass, followed by Adoration of Blessed Sacrament & Recitation of Divine Mercy Chaplet in the Church. It will be bilingual. Prepared by the Young Adults of the parish.
PRAYING THE LITURGY
The Liturgy of the Hours is prayed Tuesdays and Fridays after the 5:15 pm Mass in the Chapel. This is the official prayer of the Church which prayed daily and includes morning and evening prayers. If you so desire to pray the Liturgy of the Hours during the week, please come to the Chapel at 6 pm. Thanks.
